Yokohama (AP) - England is in the final of the Rugby World Cup. The team of coach Eddie Jones prevailed in the high-class semi-final in the Japanese Yokohama against defending champion and favorite New Zealand surprisingly well with 19: 7 (10: 0) and may continue to hope for the second world title after 2003.
With the first defeat at a World Cup against England at all, the hopes of the All Blacks to be the first team in rugby history for the third time successively to become world champion smashed at the same time. England's final opponent will be determined on Sunday in the second semi-final between South Africa and Wales (10:00 am / ProSieben MAXX). The final will be on 2 November.
For New Zealand, it was after 4403 days or twelve years and 20 days, the first defeat in world title bouts. Most recently, the most famous rugby team in the world lost on 6 October 2007 in the quarter-final against France (18:20) at a World Cup. The English, however, made up their disgust at the home World Cup 2015, when they were eliminated in the first round.
