North Korea has removed our facilities on Mt. Kumgang, and we have decided to make a conclusion and have agreed to agree only on the date. The government wants to find a creative solution, but it seems to mean individual tourism.

I am a reliable North Korean journalist.

North Korea sent us a notice through the Kaesong Liaison Office.

He said he will build a new international tourism zone on Mt. Kumgang, and that he will enter Mt. Kumgang on the agreed date and remove the facilities installed by the authorities and private companies.

He added that the business issues should be agreed by exchanging documents instead of meeting.

He effectively decided to remove one side of Mt. Kumgang facility and informed them to agree only on the date of demolition.

The government says it requires consultations between the two Koreas.

He mentioned creative solutions.

[Kim Yeon-cheol / Minister of Unification: We will prepare a creative solution to reflect the changed environment.]

It did not reveal what the creative solution was, but the clue came out.

[Lee Sang-min / Unification Ministry spokesman: Individual tourism can be reviewed in a way that tourism itself is not subject to UN Security Council sanctions and does not conflict with other provisions of the Security Council resolution.]

The Ministry of Unification explains that individual tours are possible if the South and North Korean authorities agree to guarantee their safety and the government approves the visit.

The government is expected to review the details and send a notice to North Korea that offers face-to-face contact.

But there are not one or two mountains to overcome, such as whether North Korea accepts such measures or builds a national consensus.
