For Donald Trump, the United States has done "a good job and saved thousands of lives ". Faced with the press, the US president said that if this agreement was possible , it is primarily thanks to the decisions made by his administration.

" If we're here, it's thanks to us, the United States and no one else. We are ready to accept the consequences, but we are also ready to attribute the credit to it. "

To those who believe that the decision to withdraw US forces from the Turkish-Syrian border gives even more power to Russia in the region, Donald Trump retorts that the role of the US military is not to play the police in the world.

" Other countries have invested, they want to help and that's great! Countries in the region must take responsibility and help Turkey and Syria secure their borders. "

The US president has hailed Turkey's efforts and announced the lifting of the sanctions put in place for 10 days against Ankara. He announced that Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the White House was being maintained. It is scheduled for November 13th.

On the other hand, while he had announced a total withdrawal of US forces from Syria, Donald Trump said that 150 soldiers would remain deployed with the mission to protect the oil installations in eastern Syria.
