Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon met with Japanese Prime Minister Abe this morning to deliver and interview President Moon Jae-in. The two prime ministers agreed that they could not neglect the difficult conditions of the relationship.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon met with Japanese Prime Minister Abe in the prime minister's residence for 21 minutes from 11:12 am today.

According to the first vice minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Se-young Cho, the two prime ministers shared the view that the two countries are important neighboring countries and that the two countries cannot maintain their difficult relationship.

I also shared the importance of cooperation between Korea, Japan, and Korea in relation to North Korea.

Lee urged the government to promote various communication and exchanges, including dialogue between diplomatic authorities, in order to resolve the crunch in Korea-Japan relations.

Mr. Abe reiterated his commitment to keeping the promises between the nations, saying he will continue to communicate with diplomatic authorities to resolve the issue.

Lee said the Koreans have complied with the 1965 Framework Convention and the Bill of Rights Agreement, as Japan has done so, and will continue to do so. He believes the two countries will be able to gather wisdom and overcome difficulties.

The two ministers also shared the importance of private exchanges, including youth exchanges between countries.

Mr. Lee thanked President Abe for his celebrations and hopes for the development of bilateral relations.

Mr. Lee also congratulated Naruhito as king and congratulated the Japanese people who were affected by the typhoon, and Abe thanked him and thanked President Moon for his comfort.

After the talks, Mr. Lee meets with Japanese businessmen this afternoon and shares his thoughts on economic cooperation between Korea and Japan.
