Paul Whelan's arrest extended to end of year

“To extend the accused Whelan the measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months, until December 29,” the judge Sergey Ryabtsev announced the decision.

At the end of the summer, Whelan was charged with the final version.

Earlier it was reported that the criminal investigation was completed.

In December 2018, the FSB reported that Whelan was detained during an espionage campaign in Moscow. He has citizenship of the USA, Great Britain, Ireland and Canada.
