“During the conversation, an exchange of views was held on the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic ... Mutual attitude was confirmed to continue joint work to rectify the humanitarian situation in Syria and the fight against international terrorism,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The parties also agreed on the need to start the work of the Constitutional Committee under the auspices of the UN.

Earlier, Lavrov discussed the situation in Syria with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
