Brussels (AP) - Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer recruits at a NATO meeting for allies for their Syria push. The CDU leader will present the idea of an international protection force in the north of the country at the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels. However, she does not speak on behalf of the Federal Government, which has not yet reached a coordinated position. Kramp-Karrenbauer had proposed the establishment of a security zone in the border area with Turkey because of the Turkish military offensive in northern Syria, which is to be protected by a UN force.
