Up to 100 patients may be affected, but they must be rebooked for examinations elsewhere.

An X-ray nurse was seriously injured when she was somehow sucked into the MR camera's magnetic field and got stuck there.

She is still being cared for in the hospital's intensive care unit.

Patients are re-booked

And the police are going to do a crime scene investigation of the MRI camera in the mobile car.

- Something has happened so that this nurse has stuck to the camera in the magnetic field. It's a serious injury, but I can't say more right now, says Emma Bergström-Wuolo, press officer for the Norrbotten region.

Up to about 30 patients per day are affected by the MR cart being closed "in the next few days".

- From a safety perspective, it is important that the MRI camera is examined. We and the supplier must be sure that everything is okay with the machine before the camera is restarted.

- Those who are booked in this trolley over the next few days will not be examined there, but everyone will be rebooked and patients do not have to do anything themselves, she says.

There may be MRI examinations at Sunderby hospital or at Piteå hospital instead.

- Piteå has two MR cameras running and I know there are some gaps there, says Emma Bergström -Wuolo.
