The villagers drive the most car in the county

This is a total of 940 km per person - just under 100 km after the Swedish chain Hedemora - throughout the year.

- I am very dependent on the car, I go to work with it every day, says Martin Hallstensson, who SVT meets at a station in Torsby.

In another car we find Mona Engström, who has just been and done some shopping.

- It's 13 miles downtown from home. There are no stores where I live, she says.

The number of miles is an average per person and if you look at miles per car the figure is even higher: 1178 miles.

- I'm not very dependent on the car, because I live here in Torsby. So I'm trying to go, says Lisa Nilsson at the station.

Do you think you should raise the fuel price for the sake of the environment?

- Yes, I really like it, because it's good to think about the environment, says Lisa Nilsson.

The warmlanders who run the smallest number of miles live in Karlstad: 668 miles throughout the year or 1.8 miles a day.

Seen all over Sweden, it is the metropolitan municipalities that fall at the bottom of the list, but Sundbyberg, Tyresö, Lidingö and Malmö at the bottom of the list. There, the average was just under 300 km per person in 2018.
