According to him, in order to restore the indexation of pensions to working pensioners in 2020, “it will take 368 billion rubles.”

“This is a lot of money, and we don’t have such money now,” RIA Novosti quoted Drozdov as saying.

As the agency clarifies, in Russia in 2016 a law has been enacted to abolish indexation of pensions for working retirees.

Earlier, the Auditor of the Accounting Chamber, Sergei Shtogrin, said that the size of pensions for non-working pensioners would exceed the cost of living of this category of citizens by almost half by 2022.

In early October, the State Duma approved amendments to reduce the age for obtaining the right to a non-state pension by working citizens.

As noted in the Ministry of Labor, in Russia there are more than 7 million citizens of retirement age.
