Stockholm (AFP) According to one study, climate change makes peace efforts difficult in conflict regions - and can even exacerbate conflicts. Experts from the International Peace Research Institute Sipri in Stockholm had studied the impact of climate change on the peace efforts of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (Unsom) and found that it "increases existing challenges and strengthens radical groups". The findings were also applicable to other conflicts, the researchers wrote in their report released Wednesday.
