Police stopped the truck after receiving information that several people were in its rear compartment, reports Sky News. The discovery was made within the same day that 39 people were found dead in a truck container outside London.

All persons in the truck outside Kent were alive, and were investigated by ambulance personnel before police handed them over to the Migration Authority. The motorway on which the truck was traveling links both to Folkestone where the canal tunnel begins and to Dover, where the ferry traffic to Calais in France departs.
