The municipal council in Gothenburg will meet on Wednesday to talk about a report showing the situation for the social services. This is mainly done in conjunction with the forced disposal of children.

The report states, among other things, that cooperation with the police in the work against criminal groups has led to the social service being drawn to abusive circumstances. And the measures taken have generated backlash in the form of threats and unauthorized effects. The situation leads to an unsafe working environment and threatens the legitimacy of the business.

- We work offensively in our areas against these networks, and when we become aware of maladministration, we are obliged to report to the social services in PM and other. Then I know that in some cases they have been exposed. They have a difficult, sensitive job, such as taking care of children often provokes reactions, says Fredrik Lennartsson, Deputy Local Police Area Manager for Dagens Nyheter.

"Criminal structures that want to influence"

Lisa Pedersen is the security manager at Angered's district administration and says that since last spring they looked more closely at the problem.

- We are investing where we work across the entire administration to equip the staff and create security and safety. Firstly, we raise the level of competence and take protective measures, she tells SVT Nyheter Väst.

However, Pedersen does not believe that the threats will decrease.

- We see criminal structures that want to affect social services. It is unauthorized influence, threats and violence that are used as tools to get officials to make different decisions. It is a work environment problem but, by extension, a social problem. It is a threat to our democratic structures if we let criminals influence.

Can you stop these threats?

- Yes, I think, one important thing is that we do not normalize it.
