The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Colonel Taher Ghareeb Al-Dhaheri, confirmed that possession of drugs on narcotics schedules, with a view to transporting them to and from friends or relatives, inside or outside the country, subjected the traveler to security and criminal accountability, calling on departing and arriving in the State. "Over the past two years, large land carriers that have entered the country have been seized as transporting commercial goods, but drug traffickers have used them as a smuggling device by hiding narcotics in car tires or truck bodies," he said.

He warned travelers through the country's ports of the consequences and consequences of bringing and possessing prescription drugs prohibited by UAE laws, taking into account that these practices constitute a crime, stressing that good intentions in transporting drugs inside or outside the country does not exempt from criminal and security responsibility.

He also called for arriving and departing from the State to abide by the provisions of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection Decision regarding procedures and controls for taking narcotic drugs or monitoring with passengers when entering or leaving the State, pointing out that the incoming person must obtain approval from the authorities of his country to possess any kind of drugs.
