It was at 20.30 on April 25 that a single accident occurred in Kristinehamn. A man in his 50s had run into a tree and later died. But the man did not die from the accident itself, but from injuries he sustained by someone else before crashing the car. It was rumored early on that the man had been shot, which the police later confirmed.

Today, prosecutor Barbro Brännlund brought charges against the 65-year-old man suspected of murdering the man. He is being charged with murder, weapons offenses and theft.

Claims emergency protection

According to the indictment, he has shot the man several times with a rifle. The 50-year-old man sustained injuries to the fingers, abdomen and one lung which resulted in major bleeding and caused the man to die.

- My client denies crime. Instead, he thinks it is about emergency protection when he fears for his own life, says the suspect's defender Tony Ellner.

- I argue that it is not about emergency protection, says prosecutor Barbro Brännlunnd. The suspect's emergency defense right has expired before the killing shot and that I mean I can prove, says prosecutor Barbro Brännlund.

Woman is suspected of having removed evidence

In the same case, a 71-year-old woman is being prosecuted for the protection of a criminal. She has, according to the prosecution, removed evidence by cleaning and removing, among other things, empty sleeve or empty sleeves that remained in the home after the shooting. The woman also denies crime.
