The Paris Bourse came shyly in green Tuesday at mid-meeting (+ 0.10%), despite disappointing business forecasts and pending a series of decisive votes for the Brexit in the British Parliament.

At 13:50 (1150 GMT), the CAC 40 index advanced 5.71 points to 5.654,06 points, in a trade volume of 1 billion euros. He finished slightly in the green (+ 0.21%) on Monday.

The Paris square opened without much change and then lost ground in the middle of the morning before moving into positive territory in the early afternoon.

Wall Street was preparing for his side to open slightly in the green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index futures contract gained 0.09%, the broad-based S & P 500 index 0.10% and the Nasdaq, with a strong technological color, 0.26%.

"Investors are preparing for a continuation of the Brexit saga (...) They fear that the process is lagging," said David Madden, an analyst at CMC Markets for whom "hopes of exit agreement have been tempered" by the last twists. "Last week's optimism about the prospect of approving an agreement has been replaced by a sense of fatigue."

Boris Johnson's promise to pull the UK out of the European Union on October 31 is to pass major tests on Tuesday in the UK parliament, with two preliminary votes on last week's deal between London and Brussels.

On the trade front, the Chinese authorities were cautious Tuesday against the optimism of Washington that says a partial trade agreement with Beijing "is progressing well" and could be signed by the US president next month.

"We disapprove of the tactic of brandishing the stick of tariffs at every step, all the time, and exerting maximum pressure on China," said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng.

On Saturday, however, China's chief negotiator, Liu He, hailed "substantial progress" in seeking agreement as new 15% tariff surtaxes come into force in the United States on Chinese consumer products in December.

Investors refocused on financial publications of companies whose downward prospects have weighed on the trend.

In terms of indicators, the session will again be very calm with essentially sales of existing homes in the United States for September.

On the securities side, Imerys was down 11.46% to 33.18 euros after lowering its financial outlook for 2019 and announced the resignation of its managing director, Conrad Keijzer.

Thales was down 3.07% to 88.46 euros after downgrading its growth forecast for 2019.

Klépierre was boosted (+ 1.29% to 323.99 euros) by the confirmation of its annual objectives.

bioMerieux was down 1.59% to 74.10 euros after warning that its annual growth target of turnover would now be at the bottom of the range that had initially been mentioned.

The tourism sector was struggling, France has pushed back to 2022, against 2020 initially, its goal to reach 100 million foreign tourists, "given the current economic situation." Accor declined 1% to 38.51 euros, Pierre & Vacances 1.43% to 15.14 euros and Compagnie des Alpes 0.57% to 26.10 euros.
