The Sudan peace talks, launched on 14 October, are continuing in Juba, South Sudan. Following last week's signing of an agreement with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Sudan, a similar agreement was signed on Monday with the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, a coalition of seven armed groups active in the states of South Kordofan, Darfur, and Blue Nile.

According to General Mohammed Hamdan Daglo who leads the government delegation for these peace talks in Juba , these agreements open the " way to political negotiations ". It is a " good step " in the peace talks, for its part judged the Revolutionary Front (SRF). Hadi Idriss Yahia, who signed the agreement on Monday for the SRF, said peace is " a very strategic goal for us. Sudan's transformation is based on peace . "

Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok , for his part, once again recalled his commitment to peace. A prerequisite, he said, to root Sudan's " democracy " and " to solve the economic crisis ." He also stressed on television that " the conflict zones " were " resource-rich ", but that they could not be exploited because of the violence.

Last week, a permanent, comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire was declared. On Monday, the government authorized the delivery of humanitarian aid to war-torn areas, including the states of Darfur, South Kordofan, Blue Nile and the Nuba Mountains. Areas where humanitarian aid has long been cut under the old regime of Omar El-Bashir.
