Russian Permanent Mission advises NATO to purchase history books

The Permanent Mission of Russia to NATO recommended that the Alliance purchase history books instead of winter uniforms for operations at low temperatures.

“The NATO procurement agency ordered winter camouflage (78,000 sets) and cold weather uniforms (€ 70 million) for winter operations at -40 ° C. To prove NATO's purely defensive military planning? Maybe it’s worth buying books on the history of the Second World War (Stalingrad)? ”The Russian diplomatic mission said.

In June, the Pentagon announced that Russia could independently establish the borders of its shelf in the Arctic and use military force to protect them if the international community took decisions that were unfavorable for Moscow.

In September, Drew Horn, spokesman for the US Department of Energy, said the United States intends to help prevent conflict in the Arctic, as well as counter strategic positioning in the region.
