In Guinea, five officials of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution were sentenced to six months to one year in prison. A judgment rendered this Tuesday morning in the court of Dixiin, less severe than what had asked the prosecutor.

At the time of his indictment , the prosecutor had asked five years of imprisonment for seven of the eight defendants. FNDC officials were prosecuted for "maneuvers and acts likely to compromise public safety and cause public disorder ". Facts finally requalified by the president of the court in "direct provocation to a gathering (unarmed) by writings and statements".

And it is for this reason that Abdourahamane Sanoh, a former minister and figure of Guinean civil society, is sentenced to one year's imprisonment. Sentenced to six months firm singer Bill de Sam, the FNDC operations officer Ibrahim Diallo, the leader of the Balai citizen Sékou Koundouno and Mamadou Bailo Barry of the NGO Destin in hand. Mamadou Bob Bah, Mamadou Sanoh and Abdoulaye Oumou Sow, who is a journalist and president of the blogger association Ablogui, have however been declared "not guilty".

At the announcement of the verdict, breaking a heavy silence, the room began to sound the "anthem" of the FNDC, then the national anthem. Me Salifou Beavogui read a statement on behalf of the collective of lawyers. " The legal battle will be long and arduous, " he said , "but we will not give up. The lawyers announced that they immediately call appeal. Despite the appeal of the FNDC, there was no mobilization before the court Dixinn still guarded by a large police.
