Karlsruhe / Frankfurt (dpa) - The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) is currently negotiating) against three former CEOs of Deutsche Bank. The procedure is still in connection with the bankruptcy of the media group Kirch.
The prosecution accuses Rolf Breuer, Josef Ackermann and Jürgen Fitschen tried fraud. They are said to have spelled out damages in consultation in a civil lawsuit in order to protect Deutsche Bank from high payments.
The district court Munich I had seen however no proof for that and the three in 2016 acquitted. By contrast, the public prosecutor's office has filed appeal in Karlsruhe. If the BGH confirms the acquittals, they become final. Otherwise, the process might need to be re-rolled, at least in part. The top criminal judges can announce their verdict on the day of the hearing or at a later date. (Az 1 StR 219/17)
