"Macron, answer us!" In front of all the prefectures, the peasants began Tuesday to express their distress: they ask the head of state to defend them against the evils that affect a sector in crisis, at the call of the FNSEA and the Young farmers (JA ).

"Agribashing" or deconsideration of the agricultural world and its practices, overtranspositions of European regulations, free trade agreements, late payments of European aid ... the reasons for tension are numerous.

Already mobilized on October 8, farmers, numbering 10,000 according to the FNSEA, had blocked major roads throughout France.

Some snail operations were scheduled for Tuesday, but "it is not a blockage, it is actions before the prefectures to launch an appeal to the President of the Republic," told AFP Jérôme Despey, Secretary General of the FNSEA, main agricultural union.

"At the national level, we are asking to stop agribashing - that is to say to stop making our job more and more difficult, to stop putting ourselves constantly in the wheels and to accuse us of everything. There is a farmer who kills himself every day and one has the impression that there is no awareness at the level of the government and Emmanuel Macron ", explains to the AFP Delphine Fernandez, president of the JA du Gard.

With her, dozens of tractors and farm vehicles supervised by the gendarmerie blocked the entrance to the A9 motorway in Nimes Ouest, causing several kilometers of traffic jams in a snail operation to Nimes-Est, noted a journalist AFP.

From Arles to Epinal, from the Haute-Savoie to the Gironde, the peasants expected to gather before the prefectures and challenge, through them, the head of state, operations of sheeting in support, the hashtag #SauveTonPaysan in shoulder.

- "Anger returned" -

"Farmers have returned anger, are being beaten, and want to express their frustration at some of the government's inconsistencies," said Christiane Lambert, president of the FNSEA, on CNews.

"The President of the Republic circumvents the trade union leaders today, considering that the intermediate bodies are slowdowns of reforms, it is a mistake, we saw what it gave when it bypassed the unions of employees, there had the whole movement of yellow vests, "warned Mrs. Lambert, accusing the head of state to" bury "French agriculture.

"We have the impression that agriculture is in a vise and that no one can measure the risk of drying the territory, to desertify the territory with the disappearance of dozens of farms," she added.

In addition to farm intrusions by antispecies activists or pressure on the use of plant protection products, with the establishment of pesticide non-treatment areas (ZNTs), many farmers are deploring low income, part because of the price war of the actors of the large distribution.

A situation that had to be regulated at least partially the Food Law, supposed to bring back income in the course of farms by rebalancing the commercial relations between peasants, industrialists and distributors.

"The account is not" as for the remuneration of farmers, acknowledged Monday the Minister of Agriculture, Didier Guillaume during a review of this law, which will enter in November in year II of its application , before promising to "harden things, harden them politically".

"We can have claims, I hear them and I share their fears and I try to answer them every day," added the minister on Tuesday LCI, saying however "shocked" by the slogan of farmers: "On do not address the President of the Republic saying + Macron, answer us + ".

"The FNSEA and Young Farmers are channeling the discontent, if there is no channel, it will be I think much more difficult and more violent," warned Mrs. Lambert, who asked farmers to "get involved advantage in municipal councils ", with the next elections in sight.
