The Fujairah Misdemeanor Court has heard evidence from a young Arab man accused of insulting a child and threatening to rape her and her mother through WhatsApp. The Public Prosecution has referred the accused to trial, demanding that he be punished according to the IT Crimes Act.

The defendant communicated with the victim and sent letters written in which he insulted and threatened to rape her and her mother by his older brother.

Asked by the court, the defendant denied the charges against him, pointing out that he did not know the victim but he knew her younger brother. They had no talks on WhatsApp. When confronted with the details of the conversation, he admitted that he had written to intimidate the child and that he did not intend to commit. Anything towards her.

The court summoned the witness to the details of the case to confront the defendant, and asked him about his relationship with the defendant.``The defendant is my friend, and I was not present during the incident, but he called me and told me details that included the victim's threat of rape, she and her mother, by his brother, '' he said.

The lawyer assigned by the defendant filed defenses claiming his innocence for the maliciousness of the lawsuit, as there is a kinship between the victim and the defendant.The two families knew about the ongoing problems between them.The mother of the victim filed a lawsuit accusing the young man because of the victim without mentioning the threat against her.

The court adjourned the verdict in the case to next week's hearing.
