According to El País, citing a statement by the Spanish government, the procedure will take place in the presence of the dictator’s family.

The remains will be transferred to the municipal cemetery of El Pardo in Madrid.

In September, the Supreme Court of Spain upheld the exhumation of the remains of Franco. The judges rejected the dictator’s family lawsuit, backing the government’s plans to move the remains to the cemetery in El Pardo, where his wife was buried.

Francisco Franco led Spain from 1939 to 1975.
