“The air group of the Russian Aerospace Forces, consisting of two strategic missile carriers Tu-160 and aircraft of military transport aviation Il-62 and An-124 Ruslan, will visit the Republic of South Africa,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement to RT.

As it was specified in the department, the purpose of the visit is to develop bilateral military cooperation, as well as to "work out the issues of interaction between the Russian Aerospace Forces and the South African Air Force."

In mid-September, the Ministry of Defense reported that two Russian strategic missile carriers Tu-160 completed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea.
