21 October 2019The fourteenth edition of the Rome Film Festival today hosts the new highly anticipated film by Martin Scorsese, The Irishman, which will be screened at 7.30 pm in the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

With The Irishman the American master brings to the big screen an epic saga on organized crime in post-war America.

The story is told through the eyes of Frank Sheeran, veteran of the Second World War, cheater and assassin.

The Irishman, based on the book of the same name by Charles Brandt, tells, over the decades, one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of the legendary trade unionist Jimmy Hoffa, on an extraordinary journey through the secrets of organized crime, his internal mechanisms, rivalries and connections with traditional politics.

In the Official Selection Deux is presented, directed by the Italian Filippo Meneghetti, a debut work that stands out for its sensitivity and refinement.

Nina and Madeleine, two retired women, have been secretly in love for decades. Everyone, including Madeleine's relatives, thinks they are simply neighbors on the top floor of the building in which they live.

The two women come and go between their two apartments, enjoying affection and the pleasures of everyday life, until an unexpected event upsets their relationship and leads Madeleine's daughter to discover the truth.
