“Very soon we will witness an unprecedented, significant event: on October 24, the Russia-Africa summit will be held in Sochi,” Putin said.
He said this is "the first full-scale summit, to which leaders of African states and leaders of leading regional associations have been invited."
In his opinion, the idea of organizing such an event arose a long time ago, but it took time and a lot of preparatory work to make "the summit a starting point for building fair partnerships, which are based on equality and mutual practical interest."
Earlier it was reported that Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will speak at the plenary session of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum in Sochi, which is dedicated to unlocking the potential for cooperation. It will be held on October 23.
Nation News also reported that a gala concert will be held in Sochi as part of the cultural program of the Russia-Africa forum.
