Prisoners from the Kresty jail admitted guilty to beating cellmate

Prisoners from the Kresty detention center in the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg pleaded guilty to beating a cellmate, while refusing to confirm the extortion of money from the victim.

This was reported in the city headquarters of the IC of Russia.

“They admit that they beat, but claim that they did not demand money,” the representative of the TASS agency quoted as saying.

In September, investigators opened a criminal case of extortion against three prisoners of the Cross.

According to the investigation, the suspects from July 18 to 19, threatening a cellmate, demanded 20 thousand rubles from him. After he could not find the money, he was beaten.

Following the audit, the FSIN fired three employees of the St. Petersburg pre-trial detention center.
