The last police hours are being intense in Catalonia. While the citizen security devices are being reinforced in case the violence of the radicals intensifies, National Police Information agents are carrying out an operation against a corruption plot that would have been used to divert funds for the process .

The action is being directed from the Court of Instruction 16 of Barcelona, which investigates an alleged embezzlement in the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM), an entity that has positioned itself in favor of the sovereignty process. Research sources suggest that the money would have been used for expenses related to processing and travel to Waterloo (Belgium).

From the first hour of the morning, the ACM facilities are being searched to find documents that involve the entity in the adjustment of public tenders awarded at a higher price than the real one. They investigate if part of that increase has become part of those uncontrolled coffers. The other part would go to the pockets of the now investigated. In addition to the ACM headquarters, the Police are also registering several companies related to these actions, such as a travel agency in Vic.

At the moment, the researchers do not have evidence that involves political leaders of the Catalan Government. However, the period under investigation would correspond to when the president of the association was the current Interior Minister, Miquel Buch, then mayor of Premià de Mar (Barcelona).
