The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has issued three medical circulars on the modernization of the immunization program for children and school students, including the cancellation of doses, replacement and insertion of new vaccine doses, registration and withdrawal of all the operations of producers of the drug «Gelmentin Fort» used as antimicrobial and bacteria.

The Department announced that its Abu Dhabi Public Health Center is updating the immunization program periodically based on scientific evidence-based practices and recommendations from the National Technical Advisory Committee on Immunization, noting the modernization of the Expanded Program on Immunization, including child immunization schedules and grade levels.

She explained that the updates included the administration of three doses of pneumococcal vaccine associated at the age of two months, four months and six months, and cancel the fourth dose that was given at the age of 18 months, and replace the dose of diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, whooping cough and hemophilus influenza with «quadruple vaccine», which Given at 18 months of age with a dose of the vaccine containing diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hemophilia, influenza B and poliovirus.

The EPI updates included replacing the dose of diphtheria, tetanus and non-cell pertussis (non-cellular triple bacterial vaccine), which is given in the first row, with a dose of the vaccine (diphtheria, tetanus, non-cell pertussis and child virus) «DTaP-Hib_IPV», And the inclusion of tetravalent meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) for all 11 grade students, as well as the inclusion of the HPV9 vaccine for grade 8 applications.

The Department indicated that tetravalent papillomavirus (HPV4) vaccine will continue to be given to 11th grade students for three academic years, respectively, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, respectively. The need to register all vaccinations that are given through the electronic system of vaccinations available on its official website, pointing to the need to report in the event of suspected cases of side effects of vaccination through the system of side effects resulting from vaccination (AEFI).

The Department announced the suspension and registration of all operations of producers Julmentin Forte 312mg / 5ml & Julmentin 156mg / 5ml Oral Suspension, users as antimicrobials and bacteria, manufactured by Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries «Julphar», and registered with the Ministry Health and community protection, pointing out that the decision was made after ensuring that the producers do not meet the approved specifications.

Accreditation of medical laboratories

The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has obliged all medical laboratories to obtain accreditation in accordance with the international standard (iso15189), the requirements of quality and efficiency in medical laboratories and technical requirements issued by the UAE National Accreditation System, and in order to support the achievement of the national index of increasing health facilities that meet the accreditation standards, This includes medical laboratories and medical laboratory departments in health facilities operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
