Dresden (AP) - Seven weeks after the state election in Saxony CDU, Greens and SPD have begun negotiations on a joint government. It was "a good signal" that the three parties had each recommended with very clear result to lead them, said Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer in Dresden. The potential partners had previously formulated common goals and identified the contentious issues. The CDU had become the strongest force in the state election on 1 September and a covenant with Left and AfD categorically excluded.
