Local sources told Al-Jazeera that a military convoy of the Syrian regime entered through the city of Tabqa to the Euphrates dam area in northeastern Syria, after an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces to enter the regime forces to its areas east of the Euphrates River.

The sources added that the regime forces also entered the Euphrates Dam from the town of Mahmudli, west of Raqqa, and that the step coincided with the withdrawal of US forces from the village of Sreen in the countryside of Ain al-Arab (Kobani) east of Aleppo to Hasaka.
