If they had made themselves known during the weekend of return of the Republic on the march (LREM) in Bordeaux in September, now, "The Free Walkers" are organized to weigh. Stanislas Guerini, the head of the Republic on the march discovered, a few days ago on his desk, a letter announcing the creation of an association called "The Free Walkers". Europe 1 got it.

In this letter, these activists claim their support to President Emmanuel Macron but also denounce the methods of party cadres and some investitures in municipal. "The promises of transversality have eluded Emmanuel Macron since his arrival at the Elysee," laments one of them.

"More power to local committees" to ease tensions

In response, the LREM leadership is engaged in dialogue by promising a reform of the statutes to "give more power to the local committees". But these efforts do not seem sufficient enough to curb an already launched movement.

On November 16, activists will gather in Lille for a first general assembly. They hope to announce candidates "free walkers" in at least thirty cities. Discussions are underway in Compiègne, La Garenne-Colombes or Aix-en-Provence.

Towards a parliamentary group?

Much more than the municipal ones, some already imagine a parliamentary group "Free Marchers" in the National Assembly regrouping all the deputies macronistes disappointed.
