Bruno Gazeau, president of the National Federation of transport users' associations (Fnaut), reacted Monday to Europe 1 to the announcements of Guillaume Pépy, who assured Sunday evening that all the travelers impacted by the major disturbances of the weekend would be compensated accordingly.

According to him, the promises of the president of the SNCF do not "completely" answer the bitterness of the users, but constitute however "a big progress". "The SNCF will refund all tickets, even those that were not refundable, and above all, for the first time, it recognizes that certain other expenses go beyond the simple cost of tickets, hotel nights for example."

On Sunday, Guillaume Pepy announced the rapid establishment of a compensation fund of one million euros for travelers who have suffered "exceptional damage". "Now, we have to see the conditions of use.Fnaut will follow this with a lot of detail," assured Bruno Gazeau.

He also regretted that no protection is provided for users in the exercise of such a right of withdrawal: "No transport plan, no information for travelers, no delay in negotiations within the company ... "Assuring that he did not question the validity of this legal right, he nevertheless expressed the wish to see the law amended, or at least developed for the benefit of users if this situation were to happen again.
