But what does this have to do with the Narrative Festival?
- I am literally sitting on a treasure here because there are as many stories to collect and we want the public to understand how useful this is for so many more than local historians and hobby researchers, explains Elisabeth Wiklund, one of two staff archive assistants in Skellefteå.
The premises at Nordanå were inaugurated in 1972 but belong organizationally to the People's Movement Archive in Umeå, which opened 50 years ago. Here, all kinds of material that has to do with the great popular movements are combined, it is about sobriety, free church, cooperation, workers and sports.
