Putin: more than 2.5 thousand military men from Africa were trained in Russia in five years

“Over the past five years alone, more than 2.5 thousand troops from African countries have been trained in military educational organizations of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” Putin said.

He noted that African partners are actively participating in events held by Russia, such as the International Military-Technical Forum, and meetings of senior representatives in charge of security issues. So, eleven African countries took part in the next Army International Games “ARMY-2019”.

According to the president, "ultimately, all these programs are aimed at one thing - to help Africans solve the existing security problems themselves, which will strengthen the African states themselves, their sovereignty and independence."

“And that means that the situation in the world as a whole will become more stable and predictable,” Putin added.

The Russian leader also noted that military-technical cooperation with African countries is developing actively.
