The moderates party leader Ulf Kristersson (M) today presented the direction he wants the party to take in the near future and three policy areas were mentioned specifically.

Tighter migration policy

When it comes to migration policy, he says that the Moderates will push the question that Sweden decides on how many immigrants Sweden can receive. He also proposes supply requirements for all immigrant immigrants who come to Sweden.

- I am absolutely convinced that there is a very wide support in Sweden today for a tighter migration policy, says party leader Ulf Kristersson (M) at a press conference.

Develop nuclear power

When it comes to nuclear power and energy, Kristersson says that, within the framework of the energy agreement, the moderates will work to maintain or develop Swedish nuclear power.

- Only 19 percent want to be liquidated and yet we are moving towards liquidation right now. I think it is obvious that there are many parties at the moment who insist that nuclear power is here to stay, says party leader Ulf Kristersson (M).

Kristersson says that the Social Democrats now have to decide with whom they want to build a long-term energy policy.

Law and order

The Moderates have previously submitted ten proposals and these are proposals that Kristersson continues to support and wants to see applied.

- We are prepared to enter into strict legislation where there are conditions, says party leader Ulf Kristersson (M).

- I think there is a great deal of popular support for a real mobilization to put things aside and focus on the most important (M).

The Moderates, together with the Christian Democrats, Liberals and Sweden, the Democrats have begun to make their own bill regarding the punishment for murder. It is hoped that a proposal for a sharp legislation will be able to go to the House before the summer.

- Murders that are committed within the framework of organized crime and among relatives should normally be punished with life imprisonment, which is not the case in today's proposal, says Ulf Kristersson (M).

When it comes to the so-called youth discount, the Moderates want no discount for repeated serious crime.

- An 18-year-old who commits crime regardless of what it is about, is often given only half the sentence today. We think this is unacceptable, ”says Ulf Kristersson (M).

The moderates also want the access ban that exists today in football context to be extended to be able to apply in stores, bathhouses and libraries for persons such as souls or quarrels.

Renewed confidence

During Saturday morning, Ulf Kristersson was renewed in confidence to lead the Moderates as chairman for another four years.

The Moderate General Meeting in Västerås elected Ulf Kristersson (M) without drama and without candidates.
