It is noted that according to the signals of civil defense, which are designed to alert the population of a military threat or in case of emergency, you need to act very quickly, but without panic and fuss.

In the case of an “Air Alert” signal, you must bring along your personal documents, as well as a supply of food and water.

Leaving the house, it is necessary to turn off appliances that consume electricity, water and gas, tightly close windows, windows and doors and take refuge in the nearest protective structure - a shelter, anti-radiation shelter or in other underground structures.

The “Chemical alarm” signal informs about infection due to a man-made disaster or terrorist attack at a chemically hazardous facility. Having heard this signal, you need to close the windows tightly, turn off the exhaust ventilation and ensure the sealing of the premises.

To protect the respiratory system, filter masks and self-rescuers should be used from specific chemicals, isolating gas masks or wet gauze (cloth). You can protect the skin with the help of special chemical suits or rubber-based clothing - a raincoat, boots and gloves.

The Radiation Hazard signal warns of an approaching radiation cloud that could have arisen due to a nuclear explosion, a man-made disaster, or a terrorist attack at a nuclear power plant.

According to this signal, it is necessary to close the windows tightly, turn off the exhaust ventilation and ensure the sealing of the premises. Then wear respiratory protective equipment (if available) and take measures to protect food, water and food from infection.
