According to Gustav Kanstrup, who leads the project zero vision against fatal accidents, the fatalities have been relatively constant between 35 and 50 per year for the past 10-15 years. This year the figure has so far reached 32.

- The fact that it is so relatively few means that we cannot draw any conclusions for this year with trends and trends because the basis is so small. But it is only a zero vision that applies, a fatal accident is too much and it takes power for zero vision must apply everywhere and then all parties must be helped, he says.

But what can be seen is that the fatal accidents are common in four different areas, work in the road environment, fall accidents, work with trees and animals and work vehicles.

- What is recurring is high energies, ie great forces that you are exposed to. For example, if you get hit or get furious objects over them.

"Every fatal accident is a huge failure"

In addition to the 32 who died this year, the Swedish Work Environment Authority also has statistics on 7 fatal accidents that occurred under the category "Other".

This includes fatal accidents in work where the casualties are not gainfully employed, for example, conscripts, employees of foreign companies operating in Sweden but registered in other countries and some students.

One of those who have died so far this year is an intern in Umeå. Something that does not belong to the ordinary.

- As far as I know, this is not common during the last 10-11 year period. But every fatal accident is a huge failure and not acceptable, we make no difference, says Gustav Kanstrup.
