Peskov noted that their reports on the collapse of the dam were provided by the head of the Ministry of Emergencies, Yevgeny Zinichev, and the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss.
“The President instructed to take all measures to help people, find out the reasons for what happened, as well as to prevent the spread of the consequences of the dam collapse in nearby settlements,” the spokesman for the Russian leader said.
On October 19, at 02:00 Moscow time, in the vicinity of the village of Shchetinkino, Kuraginsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on the river Seiba, the dam of the technological reservoir of the gold mining artel was destroyed.
As a result of the emergency, 15 people were killed, another 13 were missing. A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of the deaths.
According to available data, the collapsed dam is not officially registered anywhere, and the houses built in the area of this hydraulic engineering structure were erected with violations.
