He said this during a press conference following the meeting in Brussels.

He also refused to answer the question about his possible resignation, saying that he did not intend to "waste time on those who have nothing to do."
Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte called the EU’s “historic mistake” the refusal to begin the process of admission of Albania and Northern Macedonia to the union.
In June, the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, noted that not all EU members are ready to support the decision to start negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania on joining the EU.
