“We do not want Lisa’s name to be associated with the abolition of the moratorium on the death penalty in Russia,” RIA Novosti quotes Kiseleva’s comment on the petition removed from change.org demanding that the death penalty be returned.

The petition, addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the State Duma and the governor of the Saratov region Valery Radaev, was placed by Saratov’s Damir Vidmanov.

Before deleting the appeal from the site, more than 18 thousand people signed up for it.

It is noted that the State Duma deputies from the Saratov region Olga Alimova and Evgeny Primakov also advocated the return of the death penalty.

Earlier, Kiseleva recorded a video message in which she thanked the residents of the city and the whole country for their support.
