About 7,500 young people have so far been granted residence permits under the new high school law. The law allows unauthorized persons who have been denied their asylum application the opportunity to still stay in Sweden if they study. That's what TT writes.

The High School Act was pushed by the Environment Party in the government with the support of the Left Party and the Center Party, despite harsh criticism from several referral agencies that it was difficult to apply.

"One problem is that our members cannot interpret this law so that they can notify those affected," says Anders Knape (M), chairman of SKL.

The number of extension cases has also increased significantly. The Migration Board now has 2,300 cases to be tried.
