The investigation
Piloted tax sentences. The investigations led to the arrest of 14 people last May 15th. Today's new arrests were carried out by the Salerno finance guard on the order of the Salerno prosecutor's office. Official officers and entrepreneurs are in handcuffs. Fundamental information received from those who, already under arrest, during the interrogations would have admitted their responsibilities in relation to some episodes of corruption and would have provided news on other suspects and on similar episodes. The findings would have allowed to go back to another 10 second instance sentences of the regional tax commission of the section of Salerno that would have been piloted in favor of private individuals in exchange for money. Thanks to the new surveys, the number of "fake" second-degree measures starting from 2016 to May this year would therefore rise to 20. The operation was conducted to win the recourse to the tax payer in exchange for money. Among the provisional charges for which the magistrate has identified the presence of serious signs of guilt, there is the cancellation of a debt with the Treasury of over 35 million euro obtained from a Sarno company; for another Angri company the undue advantage obtained would exceed 5 million euros; for a third company, from Avellino, the sum contested by the tax authorities and canceled by the judges would reach almost one million euros. Among the suspects, a professional from Avellino who, after having held the post of tax judge in Salerno for years, has been a member of the Presidential Council of Tax Justice since September 2018, the highest body of self-government of tax judges at national level. He is disputed the competition in five episodes of corruption in judicial acts, crimes he allegedly committed not as a tax judge, nor as a director, but as an intermediary acting through the direct knowledge of the administrative staff and tax judges of Salerno. Among those arrested there are also a non-togaed tax judge, a secretary of the provincial tax commission, four other entrepreneurs and accountants in the province, as well as the Avellino-based television producer.
