Russia has drawn attention to the problem of the Russian language at the UN

The official representative of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN, Fyodor Strzhizhovsky, said that the organization’s secretariat does not pay enough attention to disseminating information in the official languages ​​of the UN, including Russian.



"The concern is that a number of" lagging "editorial boards not only do not catch up with the leaders, but generally show critically low results in terms of the dynamics of increasing users and responses to content," TASS quoted Strzhizhanovsky.

The spokesperson called on the secretariat to fulfill mandates for the official languages ​​of the UN.

“The secretariat did not pay enough attention to the development of the Russian news service,” he added.

Strzyzhanowski also noted that the first positions of the English language are undeniable.

On July 16, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin announced the readiness of the foreign ministry to propose the UN to make Ukrainian the official language of the organization.
