The revelation of the policeman Giampiero Valenti arrives during the trial of the screening for the massacre of via D'Amelio in front of the Court of Caltanissetta. The policeman recounts the period in which the former repentant Vincenzo Scarantino was heard, between 1994 and 1995, by the magistrates for his declarations which later turned out to be false on the massacre in which the judge Paolo Borsellino and five escort officers were killed.

"Di Ganci told me to disconnect the interception because Scarantino had to talk to the prosecutors", he then reiterated the inspector of the State Police, referring to his superior who was responsible for the interceptions. An important revelation that comes in the middle of the process that sees three policemen at the dock: Mario Bò, Michele Ribaudo and Fabrizio Mattei. "Di Ganci then told me to restart the interception after Scarantino had finished talking to the magistrates," he added.
