February 28, 2018 Donald Trump loses another prominent collaborator. Hope Hicks resigns as communications director of the White House. The news, released by the New York Times, has been officially confirmed.

Hicks, one of the president's most loyal collaborators, had long considered the possibility of leaving. The resignation comes in the aftermath of his hearing in the Chamber as part of the Russiagate investigation.

Farewell in the "coming weeks"
The White House spokeswoman, Sarah Sanders, confirming the imminent resignation of Hicks, said that there is still "no definite time" but the farewell will take place "in the coming weeks". Sanders also stated that Hicks' resignation "has nothing to do" with the testimony in Congress, when it was heard in the context of investigations into Moscow's presidential interference and the possible collusion between President Donald Trump's election campaign and the Kremlin.

Hicks: there are no words to express my gratitude
"There are no words to adequately express my gratitude to the president" Donald Trump. "I wish him and his administration the very best while they continue to lead our country," says Hope Hicks, announcing his resignation.

"Hope is incredible and has done a great job over the past 3 years." So Donald Trump in a note comments on the announcement of the resignation of his communications director. Hope Hicks "is intelligent and caring, really a great person, I will miss not having her by my side but when she showed me her willingness to pursue new opportunities, I totally understood. I'm sure we'll work together again".
