Turkey: Activists: Turkish army and allies take parts of Syrian border town

Beirut (AFP) Eight days after the start of the Turkish military offensive in northern Syria, the Turkish army and its allies have taken over parts of the strategically important northern Syrian border town of Ras al-Ain, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. After the intense air raids of the past few days, they would have taken "about half of the city by Thursday morning," said London-based director Rami Abdel Rahman.
