• The testimony. Vicente Sala son: 'Miguel directed my sisters'
  • The accused: 'I prefer not to testify because I am not well'
  • The Public Ministry: The prosecutor to the jury: 'It was an execution'

The Sala-Martínez have continued today detailing their family miseries on the fourth day of the trial for the crime of the widow of former CAM president Vicente Sala. The testimonies of the sister and two of the victim's daughters have evidenced for the umpteenth time that in the family nucleus no one trusted anyone anymore and that the last months of Mari Carmen Martínez's life passed between intrigues, recordings, spy movements, grudges and lies.

Antonia Martínez - sister of Mari Carmen and known as Aunt Toñi-, has concluded before the jury that Miguel López, the accused of giving two shots to his mother-in-law in the family car wash for a matter of "power and money", was A person he didn't trust. "He was a great manipulator, " he said in a firm and determined voice. For their part, Mar and Tania Sala, their nieces, confirmed what was already known: that after the death of Vicente Sala Sr., the family unit jumped into the air .

The death of the former president of the CAM in August 2011 freed his four children from keeping the forms and the desire to be able to control the company that made the family one of the richest in Spain was a priority. A scheme, the latter, strongly removed from which the members of the saga scrupulously followed in his father's life. "Before, everything was wonderful, but after Vicente died, things stopped working," Toñi explained. So much so that, as she has stated and then Mar and Tania Sala have confirmed, her sister and her nieces were denied entry to their home.

Since the meeting of shareholders in September 2016 (three months before the crime) Mari Carmen used the gold action to expel her daughters from the board of directors of the parent company and confirm her only son as the person she was carrying the reins of the holding, the daily family meals were replaced by a cold "hello and goodbye" if they were on the farm where they all lived and the large dining room that Vicente Sala Padre ordered to accommodate in the mansion was empty. " My nieces were going to pick up lunch and dinner and take them in tuppers to their homes, " recalled the sister of the deceased.

Toñi, who has lived with the family since she became an orphan of a mother at the age of 16 and her sister took her with them, has presented Miguel López as a man of blunt, fast and unreflective decisions . Along these lines, he has rescued an anecdote for the jury in which, he said, Miguel proposed a Machiavellian solution. Apparently, some friends of the Sala-Martínez had a conflict that he did not detail. " We were sitting at the table eating and Miguel told us 'bah, that is fixed with a hitman' ".

He then presented another situation that had to do with his sister's concern with the pigeons on the farm. " There was a problem and Miguel told us' I take the shotgun and give them four shots', to which my sister replied 'leave the pigeons calm ."

At the request of the accusations - the Office of the Prosecutor and the lawyer of the private prosecution, Francisco Ruiz-Marco, who exercises Vicente Sala Jr. - Toñi has abounded in Miguel's personality. «He is a very impulsive man who knows everything. If he's with a pilot, he knows more than a pilot ... but he doesn't know how to listen. Everything is talk and talk. In fact, when my brother-in-law (Vicente Sala Sr.) had to talk to him about business, he had to take a trankimazine ».

With great difficulty and very present emotion, Aunt Toñi has managed to remember the last moments of her sister's life. «I took her to the dealership to pick up her car and upon arrival, Miguel greeted us. He missed us a lot because he never did it since we didn't talk to each other. I always waited for her to return together in the two cars but that day I left my sister just getting out of my car because I didn't feel like seeing Miguel ».

The question of whether cars were delivered in the laundry room has been blunt: «Never. They were delivered to the car park once repaired and clean ». In the final stretch of his statement, which he has interrupted on several occasions by crying, he said that Miguel "belittled" his sister and that his niece Fani - wife of the accused - did not let them see the photos of the communion of his little daughter Although, he stressed, "my sister paid for the party and the food."

After Aunt Toñi, Mar and Tania Sala have sat down before the jury, who believe in the innocence of their brother-in-law, and who do not talk to their brother Vicente or his aunt . The two women attributed to a strategy of their lawyers their desire to have the same decision-making capacity as their brother in the family business and dismiss him as CEO, despite not having the proper training. Finally, they have recognized without problems that they opened their mother's jewelry box and that they took them to a notary to make an inventory for the future.
