The Tunisian Ennahda Movement on Thursday confirmed that it had started initial contacts with unnamed parties, organizations and national figures with the aim of "consulting and exchanging views on the principles, foundations and program of the next government formation."

In a statement issued by the movement, which topped the results of the legislative elections with 52 seats in the new parliament out of 217 seats, she applauded "all political and social parties that have expressed their readiness to cooperate to make the next phase successful, to respond to the aspirations of Tunisians, and to work jointly to achieve the goals of the revolution."

She also stressed her appreciation for "the important role played by the UGTT in the success of the presidential and legislative elections, and its efforts to ensure a stable social climate and maintain purchasing power."

Exceptions
The movement renewed its congratulations to the new Tunisian president, Kais Said, on his election as president of the country "and the great trust he has gained from the people".

She wished him "success in carrying out his grave tasks in a manner that enhances national solidarity, safeguards national sovereignty and establishes the foundations of the Second Republic."

A spokesman for the movement, Imad Khamiri, said in a statement on Wednesday that the movement "is in the process of making a series of contacts with all components of the House of Representatives on the next government except the heart of Tunisia and the Free Constitutional Party."

According to the results of the legislative elections that took place on October 6, the list of the democratic current came third with 22 seats after Ennahda and the "heart of Tunisia", followed by the "Coalition of Dignity" fourth, to have 21 deputies in the new parliament, and the Free Constitutional Party (liberal constitutional) V came.

The People's Movement (nationalism) came in sixth place, with 16 seats in the new parliament, while "Long live Tunisia" (liberal) got 14 seats, followed by the project of Tunisia with 4 seats, and other lists combined 33 seats.
