Labor opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn criticized Boris Johnson's agreement on the grounds that "it is even worse than Theresa May's agreement overwhelmingly rejected by Parliament." According to Corbyn, the agreement endangers food security, does not protect environmental and workers' rights and opens the door to the future privatization of public health.

For Corbyn, the agreement signed by the premier "is not going to unite the country and should be rejected," so Brexit can best resolve the word "the last word in a public vote."

To move forward with his agreement in Parliament, scheduled for Saturday, Boris Johnson hopes to have the support of a long score of Labor deputies favorable to Brexit and willing to challenge their leader. Johnson also needs the support of the 21 deputies expelled from the Conservative Party three weeks ago.

In a message on Twitter, the 'premier' said he had achieved "a great new agreement that allows us to regain control." Johnson expressed confidence that Parliament will approve the agreement and "we can meet other priorities, such as public health, the cost of living, violence and the environment."

But Johnson doesn't get the numbers. It needs the support of the Unionist Democratic Party (DUP) that, for the moment, does not accept the agreement. Last night he issued a brief statement arguing his opposition to Johnson's proposal for Northern Ireland. This Thursday, after confirmation of the existence of a pact on Brxit, DUP sources reiterated that their position remains the same.

Johnson has faced (as in his day Theresa May) the strong opposition of the DUP to any formula that leaves Northern Ireland within the EU customs union and raises a border in Northern Ireland.
